Although this time period of unemployment caused some anxiety for us adults, we wanted to ensure the kids didn't worry and stayed active, so we tried filling every day with some sort of fun activity. Luckily, there was always something interesting to do. We took the girls horseback riding in Pigeon Forge...
The girls had a great time. Baby and I stayed behind, of course. They took a trail ride through the mountains. They also got to do a zip line course. Even Shinah went through it without too much trouble. Why does she look so small in these photos? It was only a couple months ago, but she looks so much tinier than she does now in these photos...
The course was a breeze for Tay. She had plenty of experience in Florida at the zoo.
Zips are so much fun!
We had a great guide who helped Ri the whole way through and let her zip a few times at the end.
We love eating at Joe's Crab Shack. YUM.
We also took a trip to the Hands On Museum in Johnson City.
Always a favorite.
All my photos are not in order. But please bear with me again. These next photos are from Ripley's Aquarium!
The saw sharks are such strange looking creatures.
It's so hard to get a group shot...with kids.
Mom got brave and picked up a horseshoe crab...not for long, though.
Baby scuba diver? Not even close.
Getting some ice cream from Unni.
Kisses for ice cream.
Happy baby.
Hahaha...this picture looks like the puffer fish is about to eat Ri.
Love these...
Even baby got in on the action.
Touching some jelly fish! Yikes!
And now we jump to the Briarwood Ranch (I think) where we can feed animals and drive through. We were hoping to see the white buffalo, but didn't see him. Oh well. The deer were shedding their winter coats...it was kinda disturbing.
Baby only got really nervous when the emu tried eating out of the bucket. Otherwise, she was a happy camper...for the most part.
And now we are in Dollywood! I took the girls to take some rides while my parents watched Rea. We had a blast!
We got some ice cream at the end of the trip, but of course, this is the second photo in the group that got loaded...::sigh::
The girls' VERY FIRST ROLLER COASTER! I can't believe Ri was big enough to ride this one! It scared me...and it scared her, but all of us had a rolling good time!
This one was particularly popular...we went on it a couple times. Even with long lines. Pretty horse.
And...now we are at the gem mine. I figured since the girls so enjoy collecting and picking up rocks whenever we go out exploring, it might be fun for them to actually find some gems if they can. Some really shiny rocks...even Rea enjoyed splashing in the flumes.
And now...we are at Sugar Hollow park...about to enter the wetlands section.
Ri spotted this teeeeeeny little guy...must have just crawled out of the pond because he just lost his tail. Tiny little guy could still hop...so we moved him from the path and put him back in the water.
We also saw this HUGE guy...really getting at the bugs and grubs in the tree!
Oh, and this little mud-covered guy...we were worried he might be stuck and crusted in the mud, but there wasn't a whole lot we could do. The next time we went, he wasn't there, so hopefully he wasn't stuck and went along on his way.
The beautiful mother duck and her ducklings...
She started out with 13 on the first day we saw them all...and she ended up with only 12 by the next time we saw her. We think a snake might have gotten one of the babies.
Lots and lots of frogs!
Oh, and turtles!
We love the wetlands!
More turtles!I think a bird had a feast and left these remains on one of the bridges in the wetlands.
We love looking at all the creatures that can be found there.
Love this adventurous little girl.
Running for the hills!
We made it up the hill!
Playgrounds are fun for all ages.
Oh, and here we are at the Dollywood sign...?
And Bugle fingers!
Back at the playground!
Crazy bedhead!
...Uh...mint mustache, anyone? Hahahahaha...
Strange filter...pretty dress-up day.
Hm...
Backyard hangout.
Not sure where this is...perhaps we are back at Ripley's.
Yep. I think we're back at Ripley's Aquarium.
Car rides CAN be fun...when given the proper snacks and a silly Halmuni.
Ah...peace. Cuddly, sleepy babies.
She looks like such a big girl...
Fun times...sword fighting with sticks!
Sisters!
Hey, we're back at Sugar Hollow! We spent a lot of time there...we went almost every day to go see the wildlife!
I think this was a picnic at Steele Creek park. We got surrounded by geese and ducks!
Goslings!
Baby in sunglasses?
Baby trying on shoes...and getting very frustrated.
Border Bash...wanted to try everything this truck was selling...especially the deep fried oreos, but I refrained. Should I have gone for it?
Waiting for food at Machiavelli's. Face paint can be fun.
Ah...Bristol.
More face paint.
I loved this back yard growing up. So glad I got to share it with my girls a little bit.
Laundry time with baby!
Tea party!
Oh, this was fun. I got lost on a run and realized I was here when I finally found a map. On top of the mountain. What an adventure. At least I had baby in the jogger to keep me company as I tried to find my way back...::sigh::
Baby fairy wings!
They love making wings out of paper and sticking it on their backs with tape.
I'm FLYING!
Another backyard hangout day.
LOVE sleeping babies...and chubby baby cheeks. And sweet baby profiles.
Love these girls.
Group selfies are fun...trying to cram as many faces as possible into the small frame.
What were these cup cakes for?
Too much food coloring!!!!!!!!
Homemade crowns!
Royalty!
Butterfly catching at Steele Creek Park (Rooster front).Beautiful. Never fear, we released these after admiring them!
We met some other fun animals, too! HUGE ones!
Back yard pool party fun!
Hm...
Hahahahaha...
Aww...
Waterplay is the best on a hot day.
Baby picking up giant ball...
We had some great thunder storms and beautiful rainbows while we were in Virginia. Especially loved this double rainbow...right in front of our home.
Jeff and Tay got to go on a kayaking adventure!
Planting time! We picked up some flowers for the girls to help plant in the backyard.
Working hard at planting while baby and I spend time taking selfies...
Another crazy bedhead day.
Hanging out in the back yard.
Ice cream!
Uh...no standing on chairs?
...tracing her...face.
Oh, the rocks and gem stones we collected from the gem mine!
A self-hair-cutting incident. ::sigh::
Ah...peace, once again.
Relaxing on the globe...
Checking out the bottoms of her feet.
Uh...?
Tay takin' a shot.
And...I think I have reached the end of the May photos. I may have a few more that might be discovered later, but I think that'll do for now. Again, I'm sorry for the disorganization of this post, but I'm just trying to play catch up at the moment. I'll try and sort a bit better when I have fewer photos to work with...
Good night from Korea!
