A week behind...but a brief update.

I missed a Sunday posting because I was actually in the US on a surprise trip to visit my parents to celebrate their birthdays this month because it was a very special birthday this year - their 60th!

Let me just get on with the photos and catch up from last Monday.

This week started with a "bouquet" of leaves from Ri.  Sweet girl...
We did some crafts this week with paper plates.  Here's Tay cutting...
...a black cat mask!  Cute!
Then, she made a "vampire"...with cape and all!
Ri worked on some felt jack-o-lanterns!
 Cutie pie.
Another variation of her pumpkins...she said the one on the left is winking and the one on the right needed some ears.
We did some singing...
Sorting and stacking...
Some pictograph-ing...with faces...(another peace sign...)
...and bears!
Cheese!
Of course, Ri wanted in on the action, too, so I let her play with the bears, too...
She liked to line them all up and lecture them on various subjects ranging from teamwork to listening carefully...I think kindergarten is starting to rub off on her.
Of course, here is our series of group photos...it's a little scary how much these girls are starting to look like me...especially this one:
Hehehe.  This one likes to eat her baby sister's snacks more than the baby does!
My middle and my little... :)
Ah...I had to include this photo here because this week, we made some chocolate and I had been cooling it.  I went upstairs to change baby's diaper, came back down, and saw this...and I asked her, "What did you eat?" and her response was, "Nothing."  Hehehe...
Now, this little smiler had a very busy week/weekend with me.
She finds a LOT of things hilarious these days...makes for great photo opportunities.  :)
I love her sleeping face, too...look at those cheeks!
So...this past weekend, my little and I went on a surprise adventure to surprise my parents for their 60th birthdays this month (3rd - Appa, 29th - Umma).  It was quite the adventure at the airport getting to our plane - wrong terminal, no signs for Delta...etc...etc...- anyhow, by the time I made it through security and got to my gate, they were already boarding!  Yikes!  Anyhow, we got on the flight and we were all giggles in the beginning.
If only the flight was actually not full like it was when I boarded...let's just say, the flight wasn't all fun and games, but we made it!
Waiting at the Atlanta airport for our connecting flight...where they told me they were overbooked and I was on standby...NOOOOOOOOO!  So, I plopped this cutie on the floor right next to the gate chattered on with her about how we were going to be so late getting to surprise her grandparents for their 60th birthday and on and on.  Long story short, we got on that flight and Delta gave someone $600-worth of Delta dollars to take the later flight.  Thankful.
OK!  So we made it!  And...baby was very tired.  So was I.  We surprised the grandparents, but I only caught the surprise on video, so I don't have any photos!  The video was totally worth it, though.  :)
She did lots of entertaining of the grandparents with her antics and curiosity.
Here's the birthday cake I baked for them.
My great parents...still looking as young as ever.  :)  Happy birthday to Umma and Appa!
 YUM.
Still exhausted...
She found Harabuji hilarious.  She would look backwards up at him...
...then grin...
...then what a gorgeous smile!  She did this over and over again!
Then, of course, there was lots of cuddling and giggling with Halmuni.  :)
A very short trip...so here we are back at the airport.  We'll miss them so much!
The flight home was so much better.  She slept like this on one of the seats for half the flight.  (I got a row of three seats thanks to a very kind gentleman who originally volunteered his seat in bulkhead who convinced the flight attendant that she needed to move me and the baby to an empty row so I can travel easier).
We got home and I still have a very tired baby.  :)  I saw her in the car seat like this and thought she was awake and looking at the monkey...
But...she was asleep.  Just LOOK at those CHEEKS!
In other news, this little squirmy baby...
...turned 7 months old!  :)
Sorry for the break in logical order of photos, but I didn't know where to include this.  My middle drew this picture in a book that the girls had to draw in for kindergarten.  She drew herself with eye, nose, eyes, ears, arms and legs...and the little "v" on her forehead is her hair.  Then the red and blue drawn above her is a rainbow!
One lunch packed and photographed.
My labor force stirring the vegetables and looking for any rocks in the split peas we were about to turn into soup.
Yum.
Pretty.
I made some paleo "rainy day biscuits" with almond flour.  :)
Yummy strawberries from our backyard!
And...last, but not least, if you ever fly through the Atlanta international terminal (F), definitely eat at this restaurant.  I LOVE their Shrimp and Grits, but the other items on their menu look delicious, too.
Oh, one more thing!  These little birds come visit our back yard frequently to eat now that we are setting out bird seeds regularly.  Anyone want to take a guess at what type of bird this little fellow is?  Beautiful, no?
Have a great rest of the week!  Only one day left, really...oh well.  I probably missed a few things, but I hope this caught us up for the past week and a half.  Enjoy!
